Description

One of the earliest obtainable maps of Detroit

An elaborately detailed plan of the city of Detroit circa 1830.

The plan includes a key and various illustrations of government and community buildings and institutions.

John Mullett's survey of 1830 shows the pattern of the central part of the city as finally established. The downtown shows Judge Woodward's plan of the "Grand Circus", the Campus Martius, and the waterfront. The major building elevations are depicted, as well as numbered.
