Description:

An Early Plan of Boston, Shortly After The Battle of Bunker Hill

Detailed plan of Boston and the Charles River, published at the beginning of the American Revolution, illustrating streets, wharves and major landmarks.

The primary features of the map is the illustration of Charles Town in Ruins.

Across the River, the map shows a detailed treatment of Boston, including the Charles Town Ferry, North Battery, Waldos Wharf, etc in the north.  on the west side, near Beacon Hill, the Battery Common and Magazine are shown.  At the south end, a Fortification is noted, as is Fort Hill near the South Battery.
